We are currently hiring an Optician in Milford. Responsible for all stages of dispensing glasses, advises patients on the various types of lenses and frames, including advice on style, weight and color. Gives patients recommendations on how to wear and care for their eyeglasses, maintains inventory, and interacts with sales representatives from various eye wear vendors and orders a range of optical products. (S)he also ensures that all visual merchandising is implemented and properly maintained. Practices clinical duties within the generally accepted scope of practice from the state and federal optician boards and associations.

Essential Functions:

• Dispenses glasses according to optometrists’ specifications and Takes measurements
• Orders glasses and needed materials
• Trouble shoot orders and returns defective products
• Repairs and adjusts eye wear
• Double-checks dispensing done by the MCPHS staff
• Performs eyeglass verification and sign off
• Calls patients as needed to schedule/re-schedule visits
• Updates GTS system and runs reports

Required Qualifications:

• State License/ Certification Required
• 1-3 years optical experience desired
