Organ Recovery Specialist Supervisor
Job description
Scope of Position This position is responsible for the daily oversight and operations of the Comprehensive Transplant Center Organ Recovery team, including the ability to cover the required job duties of the Organ Recovery Specialist position.
Position Summary Provides direct oversight for the Comprehensive Transplant Center (CTC)’s Organ Recovery Team, and all organ procurement-related functions of the CTC. Works with the manager for Organ Recovery Specialist position, including participating in all Human Resources functions and performance metrics. Responsible for ensuring ORT compliance with applicable OSUWMC, CTC, and Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) policies, as well as any pertinent donor-related data reporting. Manages organ procurement and preservation supply chain activities; including but not limited to, donor offer call, donor chart review, organ and staff transportation, organ preservation, and inventory management. Works with Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs) and external organizations to ensure all performance and service expectations are appropriately met. Provides on-call coverage for the transplant center for organ procurement, including all responsibilities as outlined in the Organ Recovery Specialist position description. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
For Hire: Bachelor’s degree (preferably in a biological sciences field or equivalent experience in organ transplantation). One-year surgical experience or organ procurement experience required. Prior demonstration of leadership skills and related responsibilities.
On-going (optional): Certification as Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) and Certified Transplant Preservationist (CTP)
