Job description
ORTHOTIC FITTER
Full-time position available to work in cooperation with physicians and other healthcare professionals to measure and fit devices, known as orthoses, to provide care to patients who have disabling conditions of the limbs and spine.
Duties include: examining and evaluating patients' needs in relation to disease and functional loss; formulating design of orthopedic braces and evaluating braces on patients, making necessary adjustments to assure fit, function and quality; evaluating injuries to determine proper treatment, care, and possible referral; implementing treatment and rehabilitation programs; performing prescribed physical therapy; assisting with game coverage, as needed.
Applicant must have knowledge of anatomy; strong sense of aesthetics with good hand/eye coordination and precision; knowledge, skills and abilities mandated by the State of Florida Licensure Act; excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to perform with minimal supervision.
Requirements: Applicant must be an ABC Certified Fitter (CFo) or BOC Certified Athletic Trainer with a Florida license (or eligible). Prior relevant work experience providing services in a medical office setting preferred.
Position is located in Tallahassee, FL.
