• COMMUNITY OUTREACH COORDINATOR
• Department: Administration
• Reports to: Multimedia Manager
• Supervises: No. May direct activities of volunteers
• Travel Required: Frequent (within Fresno County)
• Starting Salary: $19.23 per hour (D.O.E.)
• Type: Full-time, non-exempt

POSITION SUMMARY:

FAIHP’s Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the planning and implementation of outreach strategies to build public awareness among members of the Native American community to health and social inequities within the Fresno area. The Community Outreach Coordinator is primarily responsible for connecting the community with broader community resources and opportunities as part of the State of California’s priority campaigns. Tasks and activities will include leading events and outreach activities, tracking outreach encounters, and formulating and implementing community events for diverse ages and genders.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT

EDUCATION:

• Associate’s degree in social work, communications, marketing, or a closely related field. Bachelor's degree in social work, communications, marketing, business, or related fields preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of 2 years prior experience in conducting outreach and community engagement activities.
• Experience with community advocacy efforts
• Experience working with Native American communities preferred.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Active CA driver’s license

SKILLS:

• Project Management and community engagement skills.
• Ability to work independently, and manage their time, and resources well.
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills, using MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Passionate about Fresno American Indian Health Program and outreach project goals.
• Experience in creating outreach and newsletter material.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Problem-solving skills and resourceful thinking.
• Strong empathy and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented and excellent organizational skills.
• Attention to detail and analytically driven.
• Patience and knowledge to train culturally diverse staff, interns, and volunteers.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.50 - $24.61 per hour
