Packaging & Trim Supervisor Job Description

Responsible for the supervision and development of department employees. Work with management of supporting departments to execute customer’s needs and requirements. Responsible for all outgoing packaged product and to provide clerical and customer service assistance in the shipping and receiving Department

• Inspect loading operations to make sure that they comply with shipping specifications

• Identify opportunities for enhancement and suggest ways of improvement to top management of the organization

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide direct daily supervision of Packaging associates to ensure the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the warehouse.

• Work with Production Manager and Order Entry to expedite requests and resolve Assembly Line and schedule issues.

• Supervises employees engaged in verifying and keeping records on outgoing shipments and in preparing items for shipment.

• Oversees outgoing shipping activities to ensure proper packaging accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.

• Prepares daily management reports, piece rates and quality standards.

• Direct all packaging activity to ensure safety, housekeeping, flow of work for associates Provide supervisory coverage for both 1st and 2nd shift and other areas as needed.

• Manages the examination of outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications to ensure accuracy.

• Checks the load of each truck to verify shipment is loaded safely and accurately

• Maintains inventory of packaging materials, supplies and finished goods.

• Ensure all product is scanned and labeled correctly.

• Must be able to drive a forklift on occasion.

• Learn shipping Managers responsibilities as well to cover on occasion.

• Learn to use 2020 software

Qualifications

Must have excellent communication skills

• Leading a team and driving positive change

• Experience using a Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel. 2020

• Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed; occasional longer hours to complete shipment

• Strong attention to detail and project manager

• Experience in manufacturing is a plus
