THIS IS A SECOND SHIFT POSITION

Position Responsibilities:

The Packer responsibilities at Turkey Hill - Searcy include handling and loading of food products in primary and secondary packaging in a cGMP compliant environment. Packer responsibilities include compliance with established food handling practices ensuring food safety.

In addition to the packing duties this position includes responsibilities for line preparation and readiness.

Key Duties:

• Handle food in various forms and place in primary or secondary packaging.
• Monitor in accordance to SOP and /or MBR the code date on packaging.
• Assist filler operator and freezer operator in startup, changeovers and shut down processes.
• Handle each product in a food safe manner preventing contamination or foreign matter for entering finished product.
• Ensure the product contents and packaging of finished goods sent into the VRT match.
• Tasks include housekeeping, general sanitation and product quality assessment responsibilities throughout the manufacturing process.
• Maintain the integrity of the quality system.
• Be engaged in the day-to-day running of the business by performing tasks beyond normal/baseline job responsibilities, participating in team or business improvement meetings and initiatives positioned toward improving business results.

Minimum Skills Requirements:

• High school education or equivalency.
• Demonstrated excellent coordination and hand dexterity (both hands).
• Demonstrated ability to execute safe work practices & behaviors.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Demonstrated ability to work well with all levels of personnel individually or in a team environment and ability to interface and communicate with production line workers and area managers.
• Demonstrated willingness to work any shift, weekends and holidays.
• Demonstrated willingness to adhere to cGMP requirements.

Physical Requirements:

Position requires the ability to pass drug screen and partner to provide a drug-free, healthful and safe work environment.

Position may involve standing for extended periods of times. Work may occur in environments with temperature ranges from ambient to -25º F.

Position requires the ability to lift up to 40 pounds, good visual accuracy, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, effective verbal communication skills.
