We are currently looking for a hardworking and motivated individual to join our special projects team as a Painter. This individual helps maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and general safety of the property. He or she works with a minimum of supervision to ensure all areas of the property are maintained in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition by ensuring paint in all properties is in excellent condition.

The painter must have painting and wallpaper experience. The painter paints and applies wallpapers and other decorative and protective finishes to a wide range of surfaces. Their duties include preparing surfaces, mixing and applying paints and independently managing painting projects. The candidate will be working in multiple facilities. Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license is a requirement. Some nights, weekends, and holidays may be required.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of painting experience that includes knowledge of painting and wallpapering. He or she must have the physical ability to perform all aspects of this job (lifting, standing, bending, etc.), must be reliable and trustworthy, and must pay attention to detail and take pride in his or her work.

Responsibilities:

• Working with designers, department heads, and executives to ensure they complete the work according to the requirements
• Measuring the work area to calculate the time and materials required to complete the project
• Preparing the surrounding area, including covering fixtures and furniture to prevent messes
• Preparing painting surfaces, including removing old paint, filling holes and cracks and washing walls
• Choosing the tools to complete the job
• Mixing and matching paints and colors to meet the texture and look required for the project
• Applying paint, varnishing and other finishes, hanging wallpapers and other decorative products
• Cleaning up painting tools and supplies, replacing fixtures and rearranging furniture after completing the project
• Collaborating with painters on other larger jobs
• Working with other construction professionals such as, carpenters, electricians and plumbers when necessary
• Selecting materials as per the requirements of the project and sourcing supplies that fit within budget and meets style specifications
• Liaising with department heads and executive team to discuss project details, budgets, and timelines
• Working with suppliers to obtain necessary material while staying within the customer budget
• Consulting other construction professionals to ensure the best possible results and the final product
• Reading blueprints and designs prepared by other architects, construction professionals, and ensuring they meet building code recommendations and requirements.
• Maintains clean, organized work areas and securely stores equipment and supplies
• Completes any reports or logs
• Reports equipment malfunctions, injuries, and accidents to the supervisor
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Performs small repairs as assigned

Qualifications:

• A degree or an apprenticeship in painting preferred
• Working knowledge of painting and decorative techniques
• Ability to work at heights
• Thoroughness and attention to detail
• Good maths skills to calculate work surface and materials
• Experience with using painting and decorating tools such as brushes, spray guns and hand scrapers
• Excellent balance and manual dexterity
• High level of creativity
• Excellent design skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of building regulations and codes
• At least one year of relevant painting experience preferred
• Able to follow spoken and written instructions
• Able to work without direct supervision
• Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
• Able to work a flexible schedule, which may include working days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Driver's License and reliable transportation
• Painting and wallpaper tools
