Part-time Reference Librarian

Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School seeks a part-time Reference Librarian for its Tampa Bay Campus library. The Reference Librarian will assist library users in traditional and electronic legal research and participate in the faculty liaison program. This individual may teach various instructional classes, conduct presentations, and assist with instructional support. The person will assist with administrative public services tasks. The position requires day, evening and weekend hours. The part-time position is limited to 25 hours per week.

Successful candidates will possess all or many of the following qualifications and/or skills: Master’s degree in Library Science (MLS), Library Information Science (MLIS) or Juris Doctor (J.D.), a library and law degree preferred; minimum of three to four years of experience in law library public services, law library or law office setting; knowledge of computer, specialized legal, and course management software; knowledge of print and online legal and traditional resources; strong verbal, written, and organizational skills; strong service ethic; strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact positively with individuals from a variety of diverse backgrounds; self-directed; can manage multiple tasks and projects; engage in complex decision making; and, works well in a team environment.
