Barton Chapa Surveying is hiring a Survey Party Chief in our Colleyville, TX Office.

BCS specializes in engineering surveys, topographic surveys, platting, ALTA/NSPS, construction staking, and boundary surveys. The ideal party chief will have experience in the majority of the above disciplines. Experience with Trimble robotic and GPS is a plus.

We have a standard 4 or 5-day work week (with overtime available), health/vision/dental, take-home company truck for Party Chiefs who qualify, and quarterly bonus opportunities and/or company events (including clay target shooting, cookouts, and sporting events).

We strongly believe in "promoting from within". Opportunities exist for party chiefs who independently learn CAD fundamentals to move into the office/drafting/project management.

Through our profit-sharing bonus structure - we've been able to bonus all field employees every applicable period for the past 5 years.

Job Details.

• Have basic knowledge and understanding of construction plans and maps (i.e., site plans, boundary plans, highway plans, profile and cross sections, horizontal and vertical curves, pipeline plans, foundation plans, map contours and construction staking)
• Directs and coordinates field work for a variety of standard types of surveys
• Work in the use and application of a Total Station, Robotic Total Station, Data Collectors and RTK GPS Instruments
• Accurately calculates and records field data
• Keep neat, orderly field notes for surveying operations (i.e., leveling, traversing, topographic mapping, layout, as-built surveys, boundary surveys, and cross-section surveys) and reduce/check for completeness and accuracy
• Execute procedures for checking and calibration of equipment being used
• Enforce Company safety procedures and policies for survey field operations
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent - specialized vocational training a plus
• Must have valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Work outside for 8-10 hours a day
• Ability to walk a minimum of 2 miles per day

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
