As a member of the healthcare team here at Riverview Health, the Patient Access Specialist ensures the quality of patient registrations by obtaining thorough and accurate information in a timely and efficient manner. The Patient Access Specialist interacts and coordinates with other hospital departments and/or Physician staff to ensure quality care for all patients.

Patient Access Specialist Job Functions:

• Ensuring the quality of patient registrations by obtaining thorough and accurate information in a timely and efficient manner.
• Interacting and coordinating with other hospital departments and/or Physician staff to ensure quality care for all patients.
• Serving as a patient resource in matters concerning up-front collections based upon covered benefits and in accordance with hospital policy.
• Maintaining compliance with EMTALA and HIPAA rules and regulations.
• Interviewing the patient/guarantor to obtain complete demographic, clinical, billing, insurance, and financial information.
• Explain processes and forms to patients prior to securing signatures and ensures that all documents are properly signed and witnessed as required
