The Patient Access Supervisor should have prior knowledge and experience in the Ophthalmology field, supervising experience, and a general understanding of the Billing process among other characteristics. The right candidate is a utility player that is able to take initiative in the work place and see processes through. This position does require travel between our 4 clinics located in Fort Myers, Bonita Springs, Cape Coral and Naples.
Essential Functions
· Responsible for overseeing the Front Desk process as well as the Patient Access Representative Team
· Must be willing to learn the Front Desk role in order to have a better understanding of the position; this includes but is not limited to: check in/check out, patient registration and intake, front end collections, surgery collections, producing deposits to include some cash/check handling.
· Create and manage the Front Desk schedule, including maintaining adequate coverage, handling time off requests and call-outs, and filling in as a necessary.
· Works with the Billing department to ensure that all Patient funds are allocated and that insurance is verified.
· Oversees the Patient Chart Prep process.
· Prepares & leads front desk huddles.
· Scans the schedule daily/weekly for potential issues and handles them before they arise.
· Tracks training and development. Executing reviews as needed.
· Provides constant communicate and updates to the front desk team from Leadership.
· Assist in onboarding and developing new Patient Access Representatives.
· Other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager
Qualifications
· Minimum one year of supervisory experience with direct employee reports in the Ophthalmology field.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Works independently with minimal supervision
· Practical knowledge and experience in working with practice management software systems with the ability to direct workflow operations.
· Able to maintain effective relationships and open communications with patients, management, and staff.
· Microsoft office and computer proficiency required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
