Job Summary and Qualifications

Provides exceptional hospitality and customer service to patients and their families and facilitates communication and throughput in our outpatient areas and waiting room.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Exhibits heartfelt hospitality by proactively greeting incoming patients and guests, making a positive impression
  • Facilitates communication between families and the health care team in family waiting rooms.
  • Functions as a liaison to facilitate and enhance clear communication between physicians, family members, and healthcare team.
  • Adheres to the HCA Code of Conduct.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, volunteers, visitors, and other health Care members.
  • Exhibits a calm, helpful manner that conveys a caring respectful and friendly attitude.
  • Communicates with others in a considerate, cooperative manner.
  • Manages patients and visitors’ throughput in surgical waiting room.
  • Manages conflict in a positive and constructive method working towards resolution.
  • Proficient in de-escalation techniques.
  • Create and maintain communication data logs. Gather data from Meditech and other software to track patient Through-put.
  • Assists in maintaining a neat environment in public areas and maintaining needed supplies.
  • Participates in strategies to improve department service outcomes, decrease facility at risk through appropriate documentation, and the use of chain of command.
  • Assist with service excellence expectations by assisting with rounding with patient family members in Surgical Surgical Services areas.
  • Displays a professional appearance according to department guidelines at all times.
  • Adhere to time and attendance policy.
  • Utilization of problem solving skills and follow through for conflict/complain resolution in a timely manner.
  • Provides ongoing support and communication for surgical patients and families when necessary.
  • Participation in staff meetings and patient experience committee.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Associates Degree preferred
  • 1 year hospital experience in customer service, and patient advocacy.
  • This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
