About the role

We are seeking a highly organised, motivated, enthusiastic person to join the team at the Leicester Clinical Trials Unit to develop methods that promote the inclusion of underserved groups in a multi-centre randomised controlled trial. The successful candidate will work closely with the Centre for Ethnic Health Research and the Patient and Public Involvement Lead to create public facing materials, as well as participation and dissemination strategies that work to overcome barriers to inclusion.


The aim of the Centre for Ethnic Health Research is to Reduce Ethnic Health Inequalities. We do this by working with patients, the public, community and voluntary sectors, faith centre organisers and members, researchers, health and social care organisations, locally and nationally, to:

  • Inspire community led research
  • Develop and promote culturally sensitive resources
  • Raise awareness of community engagement
  • Encourage active research participation
  • Collaborate with researcher to widen participation
  • Increase capacity and capability in the research environment through training delivery

About you

It is essential that the successful candidate will have previous experience of working with and have existing established connections with community and/or faith organisations with an understanding of equality and diversity practices. As the ideal candidate, you will be able to define priorities and work flexibly and effectively under pressure to meet demanding objectives and deadlines whilst maintaining attention to detail. You will understand the need for confidentiality and be confident in building relationships both internally and externally.
