Job description
This position is responsible for managing the compliance of garnishments and processing payroll. In addition, this position will backup and assist with various timekeeping, payroll & tax processes to ensure compliance with various Federal, State and Local regulations relating to Payroll.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Handle all aspect of the garnishment, child support, tax levy & student loans process including but not limited to posting & filing interrogatories, complying with federal and state regulations
- Complete employment verifications
- Answering phones; assisting employees with payroll or timekeeping questions & issues
- Assist with data entry needs for new hires, terminations and direct deposit accounts
- Typing, photocopying, indexing and filing.
- Perform all file updates on system as directed by manager.
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all personnel, customers, vendors and other departments.
- Maintains confidentiality of data and information accessed.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Secondary Job Responsibilities
- Process supplemental payroll, to include but not limited to adjustments, terminations, etc
- Assist with pay rate changes, PTO requests and other employee tax adjustments
- Run timekeeping reports and adjust timesheets daily as needed
- Assist Payroll Manger or Director or Payroll as needed with audits, special projects and tasks
Educational Requirements
- Associate degree or equivalent in Payroll or related business field; 3 years Garnishment & Payroll experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Multi- state garnishment and/or payroll experience preferred.
Computer Skill Requirements
- MS Office Products
- Proficient in Excel
- HRIS systems experience (experience with Paycom helpful, but not required)
- Experience with normal office equipment, for example, copier, printer, fax, phone, etc
Physical Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
- Position requires extended periods of time sitting
- Position requires extended periods of telephone and computer use
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand
