The Opportunity

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Payroll and HRIS Specialist will work closely with Human Resources and Finance teams, managing certain day-to-day functions of the Human Resources systems, including bi-weekly payroll processing, maintaining HRIS data integrity and serving as the point of contact to employees regarding system questions. This person should strive to utilize systems to their highest potential by seeking continuous improvement and ease of use for employees. Opportunities for growth as the company expands.


Responsibilities:

  • Process and reconcile US payroll on a bi-weekly basis, ensuring proper deductions for tax, benefits, levies, garnishments, and other withholdings in compliance with federal and state requirements.
  • Monitor payroll tax law changes and develop strategies to ensure compliance.
  • Review and approve timecards to ensure compliance with timekeeping policies.
  • Manage the HRIS system inputs for HR data and payroll, including new hire, promotion and termination processes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact to employees for HRIS and Payroll questions.
  • Reconcile monthly benefit invoices and provide benefit and payroll reporting to Finance.
  • Set-up, manage, and troubleshoot data feeds to benefit brokers and vendors.
  • Assist in developing best in practice Payroll and Human Resources workflow enhancements.
  • Support new Payroll and HRIS process rollouts, including process demonstrations and “how to” guides.
  • Liaise with the Payroll and HRIS provider to ensure all data needs are met and work toward continuous process improvements.
  • Maintains employee records, ensuring all required documentation is captured.
  • Ad hoc projects as assigned.

Requirement

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience processing multi-state payroll for 200+ employees.
  • Experience with Human Resources Information Systems
  • Systems orientation with strong desire for process optimization
  • Experience with Paycom is a plus
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
