Job description
Payroll Clerks at Katmai perform routine accounting and office/clerical duties such as filing, coding, typing, and mailing. They administer and coordinate administrative functions in the Payroll office.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain confidentiality of Payroll and HR records.
- Assist payroll team in all administrative functions.
- Accurately track and process documents.
- Order and maintain Payroll office supplies and forms.
- Open and distribute mail.
- Manage filing and required Payroll record keeping.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Perform other duties or special projects as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Must have two (2) years of experience in a payroll clerk or administrative role.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.
Desired Qualifications & Skills:
- Prior experience with payroll or HR systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and theory.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems, managing files, and records.
- Knowledge of arithmetic and its applications.
- Knowledge of laws and government regulations associated with accounting practices.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
- Highly proficient organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to balance multiple competing priorities under deadlines.
- Dependable, detail-oriented and adhere to strict confidentiality.
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced team focused work environment.
Travel:
- Up to 10% of local travel may be required.
Driving Requirement:
- Must have or be able to attain a valid state driver’s license and be insurable on the company’s automobile insurance policy.
- Driving, with or without accommodation, may be required when traveling and/or short occasional amounts of local driving. The expected driving time is less than 10%.

Work Schedule
Full-time. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignments or projects.
Physical Demands
Position consists of sitting for long periods of time, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing and seeing up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth perception and the ability to focus; occasional walking or standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting boxes weighing up to 30 pounds. Moderate to extended periods of office work with heavy periods of computer usage. May be assigned occasional to moderate periods of analytical tasks requiring extensive reasoning abilities. Work Environment:
