Position Overview:
Serve as the coordinator of the peace studies program, reporting to the director. The pay for this position is $10.00/hour for a 40-hour week. This is a one-year appointment with the possibility of a one-year renewal.
- Organize and manage campus activities and special events
- Develop and provide leadership for participation in off-campus conferences and other gatherings in support of peace and justice
- Provide clerical support for university committees related to the Peace Studies Institute; supervise student workers; maintain social media and web-based publications
- Assist select student-led organizations, and mentor students to develop skills related to peace and justice work
- Represent the peace studies program to prospective students and audiences in the broader community
- Residence at Peace House
Secondary Job Functions:
- Assist peace studies faculty in academic-related responsibilities such as grading exams and recording grades
- A commitment to fostering an environment of diversity and inclusion among students, faculty, and staff.
- High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Demonstrated commitment to the pursuit of peace and justice
- Previous experience in campus organizing and activism

Work schedule: This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Forty (40) hours per week (8:00 am-5:00 pm) will be the general rule. However, depending on the project cycles and workflow demands of the College, additional hours or workday schedule changes may be required occasionally.
