We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Pension Administration Team Lead in our Winston-Salem, NC office. As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Pension Administration business group which is responsible for providing defined benefit administrative service to multiple clients. We are seeking experienced Pension Administration professionals to join this rapidly growing practice to direct new and existing client activities in our Lincolnshire, IL, Atlanta, GA, The Woodlands, TX, Norwalk, CT, Winston Salem, NC and Irvine, CA, Raleigh, NC, Charlotte, NC, locations . As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by leading the delivery of pension administration services to our clients.

The target salary range for this position is $60,200 to $80,300 annually. The actual salary will vary based on the applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on the applicant’s geographic location.

As a Pension Administration Team Lead, the qualified applicant will be working as part of the Pension Administration group, which is responsible for providing defined benefit administrative services to clients and responsible for assisting with special projects and acting as a mentor and role model. Your impact as a Pension Administration Team Lead:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Benefit Calculations, Defined Benefits and Plan Provisions Knowledge
Understands advanced Defined Benefit principles and legislation
Understanding of clients' pension plan provisions, data, and DBCalc/PenProPlus system to train and coach teammates
Performs both first and second checks of calculations
Ensures accuracy and quality of system-generated calculations and communication statements
Assists the Project Manager in the development of the Requirements Document for new implementations or ongoing client updates
Ability to read and understand legal plan document and identify inconsistencies with Requirements
Reviews Requirements and other documentation in the database
Ability to update Requirements document based on administrative changes, legislative updates, etc.
Incorporates understanding of Plan document, Defined Benefits knowledge
Understands and applies concepts of Actuarial Equivalence
Acts as a resource for the team
Performs manual intervention
Consults with client and/or actuary on non-standard benefit calculations, special programs or projects, and other administrative requests
Identifies and documents any unusual aspects of calculations
Monitors client team to ensure all calculations are completed within set timeframes
Monitors "on hold" calculations to ensure timely follow-up and completion
Ability to complete more complicated non-standard calculations Ongoing Processing
Acts as a team resource for clients' Events Requirements and standard ongoing processes, processing of payments and leads monthly payment reconciliation process, 2nd check payment entry
Identifies and researches data questions or edits and responds to and manages other participant inquiries
Assists Project Manager with special projects
Leads clients' special projects
Documents outlining annual events, processes, and unique situations in client databases Communication and Client Consulting
Ability to draft e-mails to client contacts
Prepares for and leads internal team meetings and client status meetings
Identifies areas for improvement in processes and procedures
Develops and maintains a strong working relationship with client contacts
Shares information effectively through clear and succinct written and oral communication
Keeps team members/Project Manager/client informed of progress on assigned projects
Presents own view with conviction and takes other viewpoints into account Participant Customer Service
Available as expected to serve our clients
Maintains a professional and supportive demeanor with participants
Appropriate documentation within CalcsLog or Workflow on participant issues
Advances calls or issues to a manager as appropriate Project Planning and Workload Management
Prioritizes own work and client teams' work
Identifies and manages temporary spikes in teams' work loads
Ability to lead special projects with minimal supervision
Works with team members and Project Manager to ensure that recovery targets and client hours goals are being met
Assists Project Manager with monthly billing review and analysis Team Leadership & Personal Effectiveness

Assists Project Manager with ongoing team operations
Leads client team meetings with or without the Project Manager Minimum qualifications
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
Strong spreadsheet knowledge (i.e., Excel)
Basic database knowledge preferred but not required (i.e., Access)
Defined Benefit technical knowledge
Actively participates in and leads trainings
Coaching for team members
Understands Excel and Access tools
Strong command of DBCalc tools, DBAdmin, YPR and CalcsLog or PenProPlus
Understands client's dataload process and principles of testing
