Job Description

The Product Manager is a member of an agile development team responsible for enabling internal customers to solve high impact problems within the HR (Human Resources) domain space, guided by technology. This is carried out through the development & validation of business problem statements, coordination of resources through agile project management practices and validating success against operationally defined outcomes and standards.

A day in the Life:

  • Works with a wide range of customers to refine and deliver against product roadmaps which connect technical solutions to real world outcomes, including HR domain experts, business leaders, data engineering teams, UI/UX specialists and HR service teams.
  • Facilitates the intake of new work requests through customer collaboration and creation of standardized project charters which serve as the input for prioritization within the broader People Analytics portfolio
  • Consults with customers to operationalize high level business problems into individual problem statements which operationally define the breadth and depth of overall project scope.
  • Continuously manages customer expectations across the full lifecycle of a project, using real time due diligence, prioritization and trade off activities to ensure agile based implementation outcomes
  • Organizes problem statements into product roadmap views (guided by customer need prioritization) using agile project management skills to find the best sequencing of work which balances “overall business value delivered” against “speed to implementation”.
  • Supplies functional partnership to internal technical leads who architect and build solutions across the full range of the People Analytics value stream: data pipelines, data transformation, measure creation, data visualization and end user interface design.
  • Drafts and refines project requirements in user story formats across the full range of the People Analytics value stream (using sprint-based project structure) which enable technical partners to deliver interdependent outcomes which ultimately enable a customer facing solution
  • Maintain the user story backlog and supports sprint planning activities to enable short term trade off decisions while ensuring overall project deliverables are met.
  • Present development progress and results to internal customers.
  • Rely on extensive experience and prior knowledge in HR domain knowledge, systems thinking and/or data analytics to understand sophisticated problems and collaborate with team members to find solutions

Keys to Success:

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in: HR Management, Business Management, Data Analytics or Finance

Experience

  • 3+ years of applicable experience in project management, data analysis, software development, consulting or finance-based roles
  • Broad experience with domain agnostic data analytics techniques, practices and technology standards
  • Experience working in structured project management tools
  • Understands the importance of quality and meeting regulatory compliance needs
  • Experience, instincts, and passion around creating a fantastic user experience with performant and scalable software applications
  • Is authentic, transparent and leads by example, holding self and others accountable. Inspires, motivates and collaborates with others.
  • Anticipates needs and problems while crafting solutions. Is willing to ask tough questions and take risks. Greets challenge and change as opportunity.
  • Experience working with a geographically distributed team

The salary range estimated for this position is $75,000 to $168,750. This position will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. Actual compensation will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
