Mercy LIFE (Living Independently for Elders, a PACE Program) has a need for a Personal Care Assistant (CNA) for the Montgomery County/Norristown location.

The personal care worker is responsible for providing various care services necessary for attending to the personal needs, support, and health status of participants. The majority of work will be done via home care.

This position will involve home care as well as work in the center. Shift hours will be 8 to 430 pm.

This position qualifies for a $2500 sign on bonus with a 2-year commitment. The 3 installments are paid out over the two-year commitment period.

Seniors who qualify for nursing home care alternatively have the option to receive comprehensive care from an interdisciplinary team of experts, all focused on improving participants’ health. At our centers, seniors receive clinical and rehabilitation therapy and build relationships with doctors, nurses and fellow participants – all under one roof.

Under the direction and supervision of the Day Center Manager, this individual performs ADLs and activities within the scope of practice of a personal care worker, such as participant laundry, participant personal care, participant care training and education. It is the responsibility of the personal care worker to provide and assist the participants with activities of daily living, restorative and supportive care. Monitors health status and provides a safe environment for participants. Assists with organization and implementation of activity program.

Minimum qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Active certified nurse assistant in the state of PACE program preferred
• Minimum of one (1) year of documented experience working with a frail or elderly population.
• Must have valid drivers license, use of a car during each shift and valid insurance coverage.
• Experience in a long-term care facility or with a community-based geriatric program preferred.
