Job description
We are searching for a full-time Pharmacist registered and licensed in Florida for a non-sterile compounding pharmacy based in Florida.
Work is in a high-paced environment focusing on non-sterile drugs. The ideal candidate must have experience working in a non-sterile pharmacy.
Responsibilities
- Supervise compounding performed by pharmacy technicians to ensure that these activities are in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable state and federal laws.
- Review prescriptions issued by authorized prescribers to assure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed
- Perform accurate compounding procedures and dispense prescribed medications, drugs, and other pharmaceuticals for patient care
- Manage chemical inventory and assess ingredients to determine identity, purity, and strength
- Provide consultation to patients and customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and medication storage
- Supervise the maintenance and cleaning of the compounding environment, equipment, and tools
- Report out-of-specification observations, deviations, and modifications to the Quality Control/ Compliance Officer
- Train other compounding pharmacy personnel on technique and procedures
- Conduct or supervise environmental monitoring (e.g. recording temperatures, checking incubator samples)
- Assist pharmacist duties in various departments, including data entry, retail, administrative, and compounding lab
- Actively pursue personal licenses in other states and remain in good standing with the licensed states for non-resident pharmacy licenses
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited
- School of pharmacy
- Registered Pharmacist in good standing with the state of practice.
- Licensed in Florida.
