Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. Mission Readiness Group has a job opportunity for a
Planner I.
Summary: Prepare Job Material Lists (JMLs), POA&Ms and associated reports. Responsible for material and planning in support of proposal efforts. Performs a wide variety of complex planning activities required to attain awarded projects and to meet production objectives.
- Reviews engineering plans and product specifications to determine material requirements in support of repair, fabrication, and/or modernization projects.
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Project.
- Assists the Estimating Manager in developing Technical Proposals to include POA&M generation, Manpower Curves, etc.
- Develops detailed POA&M meeting 9090-310 (current rev) requirements and associated reports for modernization, installation and repair work on US Navy and coast Guard ships and watercraft for work authorized on customer contracts with Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc.
- Considers all specified references including applicable NAVSEA Standard Items in the formulation of JMLs/schedules (009-60).
- Progress schedule on a weekly basis.
- Analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare Job Material Lists.
- Maintains drawings, technical manuals and instructions related to contracted work.
- Assist in developing job estimates.
- Review all drawings and pertinent technical documentation.
- Provide planning support and coordination for prefabrication.
- Direct and participate when required in ship checks.
- Develop POA&Ms for jobs that include resource loading.
- Participate with Estimating Manager/Lead in Pre-Production meetings.
- Participate with functional organizations on any DCAA/DCMA audits.
- Makes site visits to ensure the full scope of the project is understood.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Reports to Estimating Manager.
- Provide JMLs and schedules in the format required by the Estimating Manager and/or Lead Estimator.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent related field experience.
- Work Experience: Minimum 2+ years creating JMLs (sometimes referred to as BOMs) and planning depot (shipyard) level Navy ship repair and modernization HM&E and CS projects at the trade level for labor requirements, subcontractor support requirements, and material requirements or equivalent related shipboard/ship repair experience.
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be familiar with NAVSEA Standard Items.
- Successful candidate must be knowledgeable of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other repair techniques for maximizing the accuracy of the estimate. Candidate must also be knowledgeable of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain DOD clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current or prior DOD clearance.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing, sitting, walking, handling, feeling with hands, reaching with arms.
- Prolonged sitting and use of computer, (typing, keyboarding, data entry)
- Regular communication (hearing/speaking).
- Occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
- Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Vision requirements include: close, distant, color perception, peripheral, depth and ability to focus.
- Noise conditions range from very quiet to some noise.
