JOB SUMMARY

Responsible to Northside Medical Center for supporting the corporate mission, vision and values. Responsible to Plant Operations for maintaining boiler operations. Responsible to the customer for courteous, accurate, timely service.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAJOR DUTIES

  • Continuously observes boiler pressure and water level.

  • Ensures boilers receive proper quantities of fuel, air and water to ensure safe, efficient operation.

  • Ensures all boiler and support equipment operate properly.

  • Monitors and makes necessary adjustments for chiller plant operation through use of energy management system.

  • Cleans, adjusts, lubricates, maintains and repairs equipment such as boilers, pumps, compressors, valves, controls, piping and other equipment. Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE

  • High school graduate or GED with related experience or training in high-pressure boiler.

  • Requires up to two years’ experience of this or related jobs in a hospital or healthcare facility.

  • Ability to define complicated physical or technical relationships. (Examples: operation of electric motors, refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment, steam pressures, etc.)

  • Current Ohio license as a High-Pressure Boiler Operator by the Division of Industrial Compliance required.
