Purpose and Scope
The Plumber Foreperson will supervise, direct, plan and assist in the activities of the work crews under their jurisdiction, including the maintenance and repair of all plumbing equipment used in Authority operations

Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for communicating with "customer" departments, and ordering, scheduling, and expediting equipment necessary for project completion.
• Ensuring that all inventory levels, equipment, and facilities under their control are protected and maintained in a safe operating condition.
• Inspecting job sites to ensure that work schedules, quality and safety standards are met
• Documenting, maintaining, and preparing required maintenance records on manual and automated systems
• Measuring actual work results against operating standards.
• Respond to each inquiry, whether from a customer, vendor, or co-worker in a courteous and professional manner.
• Work any all shifts and/or locations as assigned or directed.
• Respond or report to work as directed by supervisory personnel for emergencies, extreme weather conditions, or any other abnormal conditions that impair service or the safety of service, twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week.
• Adhere to the rules, regulations, collective bargaining agreements (if applicable) and policies of the Authority including the EEO, Anti-Discrimination, Anti-Harassment and Anti-Retaliation policies.
• Perform any and all other related duties and projects as assigned

• Available to work as per assignment by the MBTA twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week as directed by supervisory staff for severe weather conditions, emergencies or any other circumstances that may potentially impact service or the safety of service
• Have the ability to work any and all shifts and/or locations assigned or directed.

Supervision

• Supervision of work crews under their jurisdiction

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution with the ability to comprehend, communicate and respond to instruction, orders, signs, notices, inquiries, etc. in English.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Plumber is required where the major duties were installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial/industrial plumbing systems.
• A valid Class D driver’s license.
• Confined Space Entry Training
• The ability to supervise and work effectively with a diverse workforce.
• Ability to pass a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check, comprehensive background screening, and role appropriate MBTA’s medical clinic screening, potentially including a physical examination and drug and alcohol screening.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on an unrestricted basis.
