The VA at Central Western Massachusetts (CWM) is seeking a Chief of Podiatry to provide excellent care to Veterans at one of our out-patient sites and lead the Podiatry team in providing high quality, innovative care for our Veterans. VA CWM serves over 28,000 Veterans with sites in Northampton, Springfield, Worcester, Greenfield, Pittsfield, and Fitchburg. Podiatry services are exclusively out-patient. The Chief of Podiatry will be responsible for direct patient care, supervision of Podiatrists, and management of programs and services related to podiatric care. The VA utilizes telehealth modalities to provide care to patients, collaborating with specialists at other VAs and working with services across the local health care system including primary care, social work, pharmacy, and wound care, to provide comprehensive care for our patients. The Chief of Podiatry functions as the lead clinician for the Podiatry Service. The Chief of Podiatry will assign work, provide administrative direction, approve time and leave, and acts as the rating official for proficiency reports including Pay for Performance for all providers under their supervision. The Chief of Specialty Care acts as the approving official for proficiency reports. The Chief of Podiatry is responsible for the implementation of any Directives or taskings as assigned and for utilizing resources across the facility and VHA to improve and expand podiatry services at VA CWM. Oversight is provided by the Chief of Specialty Care. To be effective in this role, the incumbent is responsible for maintaining professional, clinical, administrative, and interpersonal communication competencies associated with the position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $195,000.00 - $252,720.00 per year
