Westwood Country Club is a premier family-oriented athletic club located in central Austin that provides a variety of quality services and activities for the recreation and dining needs of members. The Club is nestled on eleven live oak-covered acres hugging the Lake Austin shoreline.

Position Summary:

Greets members and guests at the Lake View Café and provides food and beverage orders. Serves (runs) food to tables, pools, and other Club areas from the Café. Must maintain a clean and sanitary environment, ensuring compliance with all local and state health codes. Interact professionally with all members and staff and take direction from the Lake View Café Managers.

This is a Seasonal, full-time or part-time, hourly nonexempt position.

Compensation:

$17 - $17.50 per hour based on experience

Lakeview Café hours of operation are 11am-9pm. Candidates must be available to work weekends/evenings in April, May and September as well as be available week days/week nights and weekends in June, July, and August.

• Basic service/server experience but we will also train the right person!

• Punctual and Reliable (we are not on a bus route)

• MUST BE 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER

• Texas Food Handlers’ & TABC Certification is required

Language Skills:

Must speak and read in English. Must be able to listen, give and follow directions; speak clearly and concisely to maintain proper, effective communication with staff and club members.

Physical Demands:

This position routinely requires standing, walking, holding/carrying, lifting, reaching, twisting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and kneeling/squatting. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Employee will have the ability to lift and/or move at least 50 pounds on a consistent basis.

Work Environment:

The noise level in the workplace is usually moderate, but sometimes loud, characteristic of fine dining restaurants or Country Club kitchens. The work environment is comparable to other food service industries and restaurant environments, but may include atypical or extraordinary conditions, work in a hot, humid and sometime loud environment for long periods of time. Must be able to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
