Roles & Responsibilities:

This person will be involved in a research project to study differential transcriptional roles of oncogenic transcription factors implicated in lung cancers. Specifically, (s)he will be conducting analysis of genome wide binding profiles of those transcription factors, using ChIP followed by next generation sequencing (ChIP-seq) as well as proteomic profiles of their interacting proteins in a panel of lung cancer cell lines, and identify their functional outputs lung cancers. The person will be also involved in streamlining the sample preparation for single-cell epigenomics, with an ultimate goal to elucidate the heterogeneity of lineage programs in lung cancers.

Scope of activities and duties:
Primary activities include maintaining lung cancer cell lines, performing chromatin immunoprecipitation assay, proteomic analyses, and molecular biology assays. The person will also analyze the quality control assessment of the samples for ChIP-seq as well as data analysis and interpretation. (S)he will also assist with experiments for other members in the laboratory and interact with them at daily basis.

(S)he will participate in our weekly joint lab meeting with Powell lab and Zhu lab, and will have opportunities to present his work in progress at this meeting several times. (S)he will also attend several pertinent seminar series including Grand Rounds in our Department and ones from Oncological Sciences Department and Tisch Cancer Institute.

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58,661.00 - $60,788.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
