Job Overview:
Approximately 100 miles southeast of Fairbanks, Fort Greely provides a truly one-of-a-kind experience to work, live, and play in a scenic Alaskan location with endless opportunities. At Fort Greely, Wolf Creek Federal Services, Inc. (WCFSI) provides support for the Missile Defense Command, with a primary focus on maintenance and repair.

Work and live in a unique remote location surrounded by wildlife and breathtaking scenery. Enjoy year-round outdoor adventure including hiking, fishing, dog sledding, and aurora watching. Operates power monitoring software; routes and transfers power; analyzes fluctuations, quality, and abnormalities; makes adjustments; and documents and reports data statistics for program improvement.
Responsibilities:

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

  • Works as an active member of the plant operations team.
  • Participate in all normal plant operations tasks such as startup and shutdown, daily checks, record keeping, maintenance, housekeeping, and process adjustment.
  • Responsible for instrument calibration cycles, controls troubleshooting, and implementing changes or updates to the control system.
  • Responsible for ensuring all automated data logging is functioning properly and data logs are backed up on a regular basis.
  • Maintains daily operation logs for shift in accordance with prescribed standards.
  • Performs regular inspection and maintenance on plant process and associated equipment.
  • Undertakes electrical and mechanical fault finding, repair, and reporting.
  • Assists in planning maintenance and outage activities.
  • Report results of maintenance and changes to MDC facilities status IAW MDA and GM directives.
  • 24/7 monitoring of the Power Control and Monitoring Systems (PCMS) IAW USNORTHCOM requirement and FSOMMs.
  • Monitors equipment to measure, record and make adjustments within operating parameters, perform fault finding and repair as well as required scheduled maintenance.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Mandatory:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or another applicable technical field.
    • Five (5) years’ experience in an applicable technical field may substitute for the degree requirement.
    • Any combination of relevant course work in an applicable technical field and experience in an applicable technical field may be substituted for the degreerequirement. For example, two academic years of applicable course work and three years of power plant experience would substitute.
  • Knowledge of the Missile Defense Agency mission.
  • Experience with power generation systems, control systems, emergency and redundant systems, power, and lighting systems.
  • Proficient using computers at an intermediate level, including Microsoft programs.
  • Basic electrical and mechanical experience.
  • Valid state Driver’s License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.
  • Current Secret level Security Clearance.
