Clarendon Elementary School is seeking a Pre-K paraeducator for the Pre-K and After Care program. This position is full-time, Monday thru Friday, from 9:45 AM-5:15 PM. A successful candidate will be one who has the following attributes: - Ability to interact effectively, including all written, non-verbal, and verbal interactions, with students and co-workers.- Ability to take direction and feedback when provided and to work independently when needed.- Ability to implement a variety of developmental, academic, and behavioral supports under the supervision/direction of licensed personnel and administration.- Meet professional development and other regulatory needs for working within a certified prekindergarten program as well as maintain professional development hours and attend and contribute to district and school-based meetings.- Have the interest and ability to engage in outdoor, hands-on, and sustainability-based learning with students.- Ability to help manage a safe, happy, and nurturing classroom independently and collaboratively- Ability to help supervise instruction and activities as well as assist in all daily preparation work and clean up of rooms- Ability to move around, work with students on the ground and at small desks, and assist students.- Commitment to maintaining a positive working relationship with teachers, parents, and other staff members- Commitment to establishing a nurturing relationship with the children in addition to serving as a positive role model
