We are seeking a Registered Nurse for our surgery center who provides clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality patient care. Here's What You Need

• One-year experience in an operating room setting (preferably in an ambulatory surgery center)
• Experience as an operating room nurse preferred
• IV skills preferred
• Current RN license and BLS and ACLS required
• Self-Motivated with problem-solving skills
• Ability to work as a team member
• Punctual and Dependable

What You Will Do in This Role

• Assesses patient/significant others understanding of disease process and need for surgical intervention.
• Performs perioperative teaching to patient/significant other.
• Demonstrates appropriate nursing management and intervention in the perioperative period.
• Performs preoperative patient assessment, reviews surgeon preference card, assesses equipment/supply needs, prepares operating room, ensures availability of needed
• Provides safe medication administration
• Performs surgical prep per standard of care and surgeon preference
• Handles and documents specimens per policy
• Demonstrates knowledge and skill in caring for the latex sensitive patient
• Performs sponge, sharps, and instrument counts per protocol
• Keeps surgical suites clean, tidy, free of soiled equipment and supplies, and properly stocked.
• Uses principles of asepsis in varying situations.
