About the role:
HSL Oncogenomic
We have a fixed term ( covering staff on maternity leave for 9 months) full time vacancy for Pre-Registered Clinical Scientist in the HSL OncoGenomics laboratory, which is part of the UCH Intergraded Specialist Haematological Malignancy Diagnostic Service (UCLH-SIHMDS) based in the Halo Building in London.
The successful candidates are expected to have a PhD /Masters or equivalent degrees in Genetics/Molecular Biology. They are expected to complete a training program within 3 years while undertaking scientific duties and a range of responsibilities in the OncoGenomics laboratory, which is in the provision of comprehensive integrated cytogenetic and molecular genetics diagnostic service to patients with haematological malignancies from North London Hospitals*.*
Duties include receiving, processing and analysing specimens under the supervision and guidance of Assigned Clinical Scientist while reporting directly to the Principle Clinical Scientist. The candidates are expected to learn and apply a wide variety of cytogenetic and molecular methods, carry responsibility for the operation and maintenance of equipment used in the Genetics Laboratory and to work affectively and accurately to deadlines, planning and multiple tasks.
