*THIS POSITION IS BASED ONSITE IN WHITING, INDIANA*

Purpose:

The Principal Piping Designer will be a critical part of Worley Site Project Team and the primary office location will be in bp Whiting Refinery. The Site Project Team is an extension of Worley HO team located in Edmonton.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Site Project Team Lead to achieve the overall site project team’s objectives.
  • Act as primary piping design interface with home office and site to ensure home office support expectations are satisfied.
  • Conduct field measurement and visual check supporting HO team and site-based projects. Coordinate with HO Piping lead and Site Project Team Lead if required to prioritize the activities.
  • Coordinates with HO Piping Team, defining and resolving technical problems encountered or anticipated in the field.
  • Collaborate with customer personal to ensure alignment on project goals and objectives.
  • Perform piping design for site-based projects. Prepare construction drawings, and work packages. Review supplier documentation.
  • TAR and Construction support including managing/filtering Piping and Mechanical RFIs, answering clarifications, and expediting HO responses.
  • May require working on day or night shift during Turn Around (TAR).
  • Escort for Worley HO visitors, ensuring Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs) are completed for all site visits.
  • Attend Model review and Constructability review and contribute.
  • Assist the field inspection within Worley’s scope and technical expertise.

What you will bring

Technical and Industry Experience:

  • 10+ years Piping Design experiences in brown field oil & gas, refining projects, preferably with onsite experiences.
  • Experience in Engineering & Procurement (EP) Projects and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) projects is essential.
  • Familiar with industrial and regulatory codes and standards.
  • Hands on experience with piping design software - PDS, E3D, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:

Mechanical Engineering Degree or Diploma, or Process Piping Design Diploma.
