Salary Range: $61.8800 - $102.0800 /hour
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer, the Principal, Research Compliance and Conflict of Interest provides compliance oversight of Hoag’s clinical research program(s) and conflicts of interest policy enterprise wide. The Principal designs, implements and maintains the Research Compliance Program that aligns with Hoag’s enterprise-wide Compliance Program. Manages and conducts research compliance related investigations. Conducts routine internal incident investigations and follow up including the development and monitoring of corrective actions for research compliance matters. Instrumental role in the preparation for external inspections, audits and sponsor visits. Collaborates with key leadership, employees, physicians to identify, research, investigate and resolve research-related compliance issues. Proactively identifies areas of research compliance related risk at Hoag. Collaborates on matters involving Hoag investigators to ensure compliance with Hoag Conflict of Interest policies and recommends if proposed activity should proceed, as well as any action, including management plans required.
The Principal is responsible for developing and overseeing the organizational conflicts of interest policy and procedure for Hoag enterprise wide. Develops and implements an annual conflicts of disclosure process for leaders, key employees and high-risk departments. Collaborates with Human Resources and key leaders in the management of conflicts of interest.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Minimum six years professional experience in health care industry of which at least four years relevant research compliance, general compliance and/or legal experience.
- Knowledge of federal laws, regulations and guidelines governing research including HIPAA and the Common Rule.
- Working knowledge of healthcare compliance rules, regulations and practices.
Certifications Required
- Certified in Healthcare Research Compliance (CHRC) or must obtain one within six months of hire.
- If the individual doesn’t have a CHRC at hire they must be Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or other Hoag accepted compliance certification at hire in addition to obtaining their CHRC within six months.
