What’s the scope of the role?
EDF R is one of the biggest companies of its kind with 33 operational onshore wind farms and 2 offshore wind farms across the country, together with a 150MW of operating battery storage. ED F R is also active in UK solar power generation and is currently constructing 200MW+ of projects in the UK and Ireland. The business is responsible for developing, building and operating its renewable assets in the UK.

The role of Procurement Specialist is an opportunity for you to participate in the renewable energy growth by joining the EDF Renewables UK & Ireland procurement team, with particular focus on building new onshore wind projects.
The primary focus of this role will be to support our portfolio of onshore wind projects in the UK and Irish markets (circa 600MW of consented projects and as many in the planning process).
Reporting to the Onshore Wind Senior Procurement Manager, you will provide comprehensive procurement support to the onshore wind business unit. This will include procuring consulting services to the BU for early development stage projects, up to supporting the construction team with the procurement of major contracts of BoP, eBoP construction activities as well as wind turbines supply and installation agreements.
What you’ll be doing day to day…
- Preparing and managing formal and informal RfQs to ensure alignment between EDF business opportunities and its relevant supply chain
- Preparing purchase orders and contracts for goods, works and services in consultation
- Performing regular reviews of the performance of framework contracts within their market areas
- Supporting the commercial management team with warranty claims, disputes, contract amendments and variations
- Leading or supporting on contract negotiations with suppliers to ensure value for money, savings are achieved, and efficiencies are secured for the business whilst managing risk
- Liaising regularly with suppliers
- Audit / review compliance with approved procurement procedures
What do you need to be great in this role?
The successful candidate will have previous experience in the procurement of either Renewables and/or Construction industry or of a similar capital-intensive environment, you will have a comprehensive knowledge of the principles of procurement and/or contract management and cost management.
You’ll be able to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the principles of procurement and contract management and a proven track record and experience with major construction projects and/or other energy projects.
You will be educated to a degree in quantity surveying, procurement or a business/commercial discipline.
Additional desirable skills:
- A RICS or CIPS membership (or working towards qualification).
- Proven negotiation/influencing skills with an understanding of contract law
- Understanding and experience with EU procurement regulations.
