Job description
SUMMARY: Maintain data base and ERP records pertinent to production and inventory control. Process documentation related to production and inventory control. Schedule component part release dates and quantities with suppliers. Schedule presses and lines to meet customer requirements. The position reports to the Production Control Manager.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
PRODUCTION & INVENTORY CONTROL
A. Possess a basic understanding of the purchasing process.

B. Create Kan Ban labels as required to support production operations.

C. Create production orders from ERP system and supply to Production Supervisors as factory order packets.

D. Communicate with suppliers and expedite or confirm orders as required.

E. Create, maintain and distribute production reports as requested such as:
1) Efficiency Reports
2) Inventory Reports
3) Labor Reports
4) Steel Usage Reports
5) Scrap Reports
6) Production Schedule Reports
7) Press Uptime Reports

F. Perform manual backflush operations as required.

G. Perform cycle count entries as required.

H. Process Engineering Change Orders (ECO) by verifying the accuracy of product structures and routings.

I. Create Item Site Data records in MFG/PRO.

J. Add new items to Production Line and Resource data files in MFG/PRO.

K. Maintain the uncontrolled drawing files.

L. Notify Cost Accounting when new item numbers are completed for costing roll-up.

M. Using MRP data determine appropriate quantities and delivery dates of component parts purchased from outside suppliers.

N. Process inter-site demand orders.

O. Using MRP and other scheduling resources create production schedules for component presses and production lines as required.

GENERAL
A. Review and correct hourly employee payroll records in Timeware as required.
B. Substitutes for the Receptionist during breaks, absences or busy periods by answering and routing telephone calls, taking messages and greeting visitors.
C. May perform MRO purchasing tasks utilizing MLS software process.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None

TRAVEL: None

CONFIDENTIALITY: Has access and knowledge of purchasing contracts including terms, pricing and special considerations. Is familiar with plant production capabilities and standards. Has access to standard cost records.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Three or more years of production control experience is preferred. Familiar with an ERP software system, Excel and Word.

EDUCATION REQUIRED: High school graduation diploma is required. Completion of selected college level courses is a benefit.

OTHER: To perform the job duties summarized above, the employee will be required to operate a computer and other office equipment. Good communication skills are necessary to satisfactorily perform the job duties. Close attention to accuracy is critical.
