About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for Production Operatives to join our growing Kerry Team in Cam, near Dursley in Gloucestershire.
It is a full-time, permanent position with 4 days on 4 days off shift pattern. During periods of increased demand, voluntary overtime with increased pay is available.
Kerry Cam site is a well-established, small factory with about 35 employees. It is a regional centre for Gum Acacia production, which is used for global food, beverage, and pharmaceutical markets. The site has onsite parking, and it is located close to Cam & Dursley train station (less than 15 mins walk) and bus stops (2 mins walk).
Previous experience as Production Operative, Picker/Packer, Site Operative, General Operative and similar is advantageous.

Key responsibilities
Your responsibilities as a Production Operative will include:
- Manage raw materials and finished goods
- Operate process & packing machinery and equipment in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Ensure process & packing machinery, equipment and production areas are kept clean and in-line with cleaning schedules.
- Follow Health & Safety (H&S) policies and procedures, Kerry Manufacturing Standards and hygiene standards as documented by site & global standards.
- Follow site’s Environmental & Energy policies and taking measures to reduce energy usage where possible.
- Ensure areas designated to your role are compliant to internal and external audit standards.
- Ensure all paperwork/data entry is completed as required. Use of Intelex systems to report observations, incidents, non-conformities.
- Promote and encourage food safety awareness & a zero tolerance approach to foreign material presence.
- Carry out Quality Assurance checks. Ensure samples are taken for Quality Control testing
- Completion of GMP checks in alignment with site G6 programme.
- Carry out Forklift Truck (FLT) inspections
- Carry out any additional task that is reasonably requested of them by their Leading Hand or a member of the management team.

When working in Wet Area they also will include:
- Maintain material traceability
- Manage left-over material correctly labelled with SAP codes
- Manage waste generated in the area during the shift period. Card & plastic waste is baled.
- Stock accuracy and reconciliation
- Carry out daily filters and consumables count. Notify Leading Hand so that stocks can be replenished or of any shortages.
Qualifications and skills
Core Competencies:
- Team player
- Ability to follow written instructions
- Good communicator
- Ability to work unsupervised for long periods of time
- To work within Health & Safety guidelines.
- Ability to train of various lifting equipment
Qualifications:
- A basic PC skill level
- An understanding of general manufacturing procedures.
- Previous experience using SAP or similar manufacturing programmes.
- Food safety / HACCP basic level
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate desirable
