Overview
The Production Supervisor oversees the activities of all production departments on 2nd shift. This includes leading production personnel (including any overtime production personnel) to ensure the company's quality and delivery goals are met. The supervisor will verify that work is assigned in such a way that qualified personnel, with the correct work instructions, tools, and equipment, are using correct processes to perform repairs to meet customer requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that CRT safety and quality standards are followed at all times.
- Be able to perform maintenance and/or preventative maintenance on parts as needed.
- Create and enforce expectations for production personnel and ensure all employees are following CRT's HR policies and procedures.
- Counsel and coach employees while documenting interactions that may lead to disciplinary action that may require assistance from HR.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding personnel issues.
- Oversee or conduct performance and wage reviews and recommend wage changes to the corresponding department manager.
- Evaluate employee KSA's and work with the Training Department to establish training plans for employees.
- Encourage employees to learn new skills and pursue education and training to enhance workforce flexibility, employee engagement, and retention.
- Identify and develop future leaders.
- Receiving communication and expectation set by the 1st shift supervisor.
- Orchestrate changes to the schedule and communicate defective parts issues to engineering and/or quality engineering.
- Follow CRT systems to communicate corrective action findings, HR issues, maintenance issues, purchasing needs, and other issues that arise.
- Document any issues that arise and provide ideas on fixes to help your team.
- Coordinate task assignments for employees and other supervisors and managers to achieve promised delivery dates.
- Organize scheduling of 2nd shift production personnel on their shift, day, and task assignments to ensure that properly trained personnel support product throughput.
- Manage core hours, scheduled time off, flexible schedules, weekend schedules, shift schedules, and overtime to meet throughput requirements.
- Evaluate staffing levels for effective use of employees.
- Recommend hiring or staff reduction plans to managers to ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet company goals.
- Participate in reviewing internal candidates for open positions and recommend hiring decisions to department managers.
- Ensure that employees use equipment and tooling properly and safely.
- Monitor and evaluate equipment and tooling needs.
- Recommend equipment and tooling improvements and new purchases.
- Coordinate with maintenance, quality, inspection , purchasing, engineering, or production departments involved to ensure that equipment and tooling are properly maintained.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Basic shop math and geometric tolerances as related to CRT drawing and standard manufacturing methods.
- Advanced knowledge of shop procedures and technical processes you will oversee.
- Read, comprehend, and write technical data, information, and/or operator work instructions.
- General computer skills required. Must be able to use CRT computer systems to support function after successful completion of trial and orientation period.
- General understanding of all internal systems at CRT after successful completion of trial and orientation period (typically 90 days).
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- College level reading, writing, and speaking including public speaking.
- Give and receive constructive criticism.
- Organize and oversee the process of technical information and maintain records.
- Knowledge of and belief in CRT systems and procedures.
- Where FAA certification is required, must meet the following requirements of FAR Part 65–at least 18 months experience in the processes overseen, industry certification when required, demonstrated knowledge of applicable FAA regulations, demonstrated knowledge of CRT Repair Station Manual and quality systems.
Preferred Qualifications:- Technical high school and/or trade school plus two year and/or four-year technical degree (B.S. in Chemistry, Welding, Materials, Engineering, etc.) plus three years aircraft repair or equivalent experience.
- Five years supervisory experience in a manufacturing or repair station environment.
- Knowledge of FAA/EASA regulation and/or other governing regulation.
- Knowledge of OEM applicable technical data, engine manuals, overhaul manuals, and/or processes to maintain aircraft components.
- Turbine engine component repairs and their repair processes.
- Commitment to continuing education. Able and willing to continue technical and supervisory education through seminars or classes.
