BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: The Public Health Department (UGPHD) of the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, KS, is seeking a talented and collaborative professional to serve as the Program Coordinator to facilitate the Fetal Infant Mortality Review (FIMR) Community Action Team (CAT). The FIMR CAT is a group community partners who work to reduce infant mortality in Wyandotte County, Kansas. The FIRM CAT action team develops an action plan based on FIMR Case Review Teams recommendations and implements the actions. Project duties include developing organizational partnerships to accomplish goals; implementing collaborative projects based on evidence-based and emerging best practices; assisting with coalition and project-related communications; and empowering representatives from communities disproportionately affected by infant mortality to be leaders in the effort. The Program Coordinator will recruit a diverse group of individuals representing organizations and institutions in the community. The members of the CAT should include those who are influential or able to mobilize resources on behalf of their organizations and are committed to a large-scale system change. The Program Coordinator will develop relationships with local OBGYN’s offices and delivering hospitals to ensure implementation of recommendations by the FIMR Case Review Team. The Program Coordinator will look for and apply for funding/grant opportunities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor’s Degree in education, social work, public health or a related field and 2 years of related program experience; or an equivalent of education and experience to successfully perform essential duties of the position. This position requires flexibility and initiative. Preferred qualifications; experience with group facilitation and collaborative projects; experience working on policy, systems, to improve population health; knowledge of public health evidence base related to infant mortality. Must have the ability to work with multiple external partners in a diverse environment. Must have reliable transportation and a valid Kansas driver’s license. Must reside in Wyandotte County or relocate into the county within 12 months of appointment.
Must have reliable personal transportation and a valid KS driver’s license. A background check and drug screen will be conducted on potential selected candidates.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.96 - $33.38 per hour
