New Earth is seeking a highly organized, dynamic Program Manager to join our vocational team. The Program Manager is responsible for identifying job and career advancement opportunities for clients based on their objectives, needs, and skill sets, serving our rapidly growing Los Angeles non-profit serving juvenile justice system-involved youth. As a member of the vocational team, the Career Coach assists clients with enhancing their job skills, make improvements and suggestions to clients' resumes and ensure preparation for job interviews and works within the guidelines, values and mission of the organization and will be accountable and responsible for specific projects as assigned.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesPlan and implement job coaching strategy with multiple clients
Create and update records and reports on progress
Ability to stay organized when dealing with multiple clients simultaneously
Assists clients in planning strategic career moves and developing leadership skills
Reviews clients resumes and cover letters and provides feedback
Rehearses job interview tactics with clients and offers advice
Holds seminars and workshops to educate individuals who are searching for the right career path
Performs personality and skills assessments on clients.
Administer aptitude tests to help determine client’s interests and talents
Recommends additional education and or training to help clients achieve their career goals
Help clients write resumes and letters to prospective employers
Assists clients with job search skills, contacting prospective employers and completing job applications
Helps clients conquer habits that prevent job advancement
Provide Executive team with weekly reports as requested
Special projects and initiatives as requested
Qualifications
- Degree in Human Resources or related field i.e. human services, healthcare, or education
- At least 5 year's experience in, Non-profit sector a plus, not a must.
- Extremely organized and thrives in a fast paced, constantly changing environment
- Ability to interact with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong team management and
leadership skills
- Commitment to social justice and the organization’s mission
- Excellent computer skills and proficient in excel, word, outlook, and powerpoint
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Knowledge of human resources and recruiting techniques
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style
- A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse
workplace
- Excels at operating in a fast-paced, multi-tasking community environment
- Excellent people manager, open to direction and collaborative work style and commitment
to get the job done
- High comfort level working in a diverse environment
- Must have reliable transportation
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
