The role you’ll contribute:

The Program Manager, Volunteer Services reports directly to the Director of Volunteer services and is responsible for developing and executing external volunteer programs that enhance and grow the program across the entire system. In addition, this role conceives a robust retention and recognition program for our Volunteers. Works closely with strategic AdventHealth departments, including the Volunteer Managers and recruiters, to ensure initiatives are consistent and meet our brand standards. Uncovers new relationship and maintains relationships with other organizations that promote volunteerism in the community. Cultivates and grows relations with local community-based organizations and contacts who are interested in collaborating with hospital in ways that support and serve the local community in Central Florida.

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications or any like field
  • Three years’ experience in program development or event planning.
  • Experience managing programs and/or staff
  • Proven experience in developing successful programs that build the brand.
  • Manage the coordination of programs across the system.
  • Excels in communication skills, influencing and inspiring to a wide variety of audiences Exemplary customer service skills. Ability to handle conflict.
  • Experienced in planning and execution of special events for volunteers.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • Develops and executes programs/initiatives that grow the external volunteer program across the entire system. Ensures those programs are consistent across the organization and meet our brand standards, etc.
  • Responsible for crafting a recognition retention program for volunteers.
  • Serves as point person for local organizations such as Mended Hearts, American Cancer Society, Pet Therapy Organizations, etc., to develop a strong working relationship and develop volunteer roles and pipelines for specialized areas of volunteer service.
  • Develop and maintain a list of local community-based organizations and contacts who are interested in collaborating with AdventHealth in ways that support and serve the local community in Central Florida.
  • Assists in developing, planning, and executing strategic volunteer events and stories to create buzz that promotes and highlights our key services/programs/physicians/employees of AdventHealth.
  • Develops an annual calendar of events and communication to volunteers, local groups and community to increase number of hours of volunteer service.
  • Grows and maintains relationships with all local schools, churches and organizations who are interested in attending and supporting short term events at the hospital.
  • Develop and communicate a plan for volunteers to drop off hand-made items to the hospital and make an accurate record of all donated items, responding to each volunteer in a timely manner with a written letter of appreciation.
  • Effective leadership skills and the ability to serve in a matrix management environment with both campus and system leaders to achieve organizational goals.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
