Department Summary
The Office of University Accreditation provides leadership and support to academic units in the areas of program planning authority and development, institutional effectiveness, core curriculum, marketable skill attainment, accreditation, assessment, academic program review, policy development and implementation, and faculty productivity reporting. The University Accreditation Department reports to the Vice President for Planning and Chief of Staff.

Position Overview
This position will report directly to the Assistant Vice President, Accreditation and Institutional Effectiveness. This position is responsible for coordinating and scheduling academic program reviews and accreditation budgeting. Other responsibilities includes specific projects, scheduling, planning, developing, monitoring, and coordinating complex administrative services, often sensitive and confidential work.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in related field and three years of related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to use a variety of complex computer applications.
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations verbally and in writing.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to work independently and lead project teams effectively. Considerable knowledge of University policies and procedures related to functional area (or ability to rapidly assimilate).

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:
  • Experience with UNT budgets

Job Duties

o
Works with colleges, departments, and external reviewers to schedule academic program review.

o
Coordinates all aspects of academic program review and maintains communications with external reviewers.

o
Assists supervisor in periodic functions and special projects as assigned or required.

o
Maintains supervisor’s pending file for correspondence, meetings, events and or any other item needing action by supervisor.

o
Completes travel arrangements and reimbursements.

o
Provides committee support and arranges meetings for various groups on both a regular and ad hoc basis.

o
Provides budgetary oversight and forecasting details as requested.

o
Assists with arrangements for conferences, programs, meetings and special events coordinated by supervisor and others in the office.

o
Composes and proofs correspondence, memoranda, reports, miscellaneous forms, materials for seminars, PowerPoint Presentations, etc. as needed on behalf of supervisor.

o
Screens and schedules appointments, meetings and all activities for supervisor.
