Job Summary
Eastern Washington University is seeking an experienced
Program Specialist 2 for our School of Social Work – Addiction Studies Program in the College of Professional Programs.

Under general direction, this position is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating specialized program operations for the Addiction Studies Program at Eastern Washington University (EWU).

Under general direction, this position is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating specialized program operations for the Addiction Studies Program at Eastern Washington University (EWU).
- Program specialists oversee the day-to-day program operations, function as the program representative and resource, have extensive contact with program participants and outside entities, and resolve problems within delegated areas of authority.
- In this capacity, the position will also provide support to the Addiction Studies Director, coordinate special projects, conduct training, and provide technical, administrative, and student services support.
- Position will exercise independent judgment and discretion relating to students regarding program policies, guidelines and contracts and in implementing, interpreting and applying program procedures and policies.
- Position will independently advise students, staff, and the public regarding the program and the University, and act as liaison to local organizations.
- Position reports directly to the Director of Addiction Studies.

- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
POSITION SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS :
To be considered qualified for this position, you must meet the minimum qualifications defined above, AND you must meet EACH AND ALL of the qualifications listed below within this section:
- Two years experience in program support services beyond entry level support work;
- Strong computer skills demonstrated by two years successful full time work experience using a variety of software programs;
- Two years full time work experience maintaining both manual and electronic records and files;
- Two years full time work experience demonstrating success handling a high volume of customer contact and providing customer service;
- Two years full time work experience with demonstrated success in the ability to successfully handle a demanding workload with overlapping deadlines and which required great attention to detail, strong communication skills, perseverance, initiative, and ability to function equally well taking direction and working independently, and in an environment characterized by interruptions throughout the workday.
Note: each of the Position Specific Requirements (“PSR”) defined above requires two years work experience involving the functions/abilities described above. This experience can come from one or more positions, as long as you offer at least two years full time qualifying work experience in EACH AND ALL of the PSRs defined above.

Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years work experience in a higher education environment involving student support services including student advising.
- Two or more years monitoring and managing a program budget.
- At least one year experiencing using Blackboard or Canvas, EagleNet, Banner, EAB, and other university administrative systems, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with state certification requirements for substance use disorder professionals.
