Job Responsibilities
This is an entry-level position located at our Whitehall Castings facility in Whitehall, Michigan involving significant interaction with manufacturing, automation, engineering, and IT resources across plant 1, 3 and 10.
This position involves:
- Analysis, design, development, and deployment of systems related to our manufacturing processes, automation, data collection, part marking, and non-destructive testing systems.
- Interact with business process and system owners to effectively understand requirements and implement the appropriate systems solution.
- Solving operational, quality, and engineering problems using advanced and emerging technology solutions.
- Identifying opportunities and deploying tools to drive continuous improvement through computing technology.
- Execute work in compliance with all appropriate audit and regulatory requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in an Engineering discipline, Computer Science, Analytics, or Information SystemsOR an AA degree with 5 years of related experience.
- This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of object-oriented software packages and modern application development techniques.
- Basic knowledge of mobile application design, development, and deployment.
- Basic understanding of PLCs, HMIs and industrial Ethernet communications.
- Desire for learning new technologies both at and outside of work.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a self-directed or team environment.
- Strong documentation skills, both technical and end-user focused.
- Well organized.
