Job Description
Shepherd’s Center of Hamilton County provides programs to promote and support independent lifestyles for seniors in Hamilton County. Through our programs, seniors can connect with services or to other individuals that will help enrich independent lifestyles. Our Together Today Program provides an excellent opportunity for older adults to get together on a regular basis, make new friends, and have a wonderful time socializing together. The goal of the program is to prevent isolation and create community. Community Caring connects volunteers with home-bound, isolated, and/or financially fragile seniors 55+ to help support their independence. Individual volunteers can help with house cleaning, light home maintenance, transportation, and friendly visitation. Group volunteers can assist with yard work, home repairs, care package delivery and much more. Volunteers allow seniors to live independently with dignity in their own homes for as long as safely possible.
Reporting to the Director of Programs, the Programs Manager will be responsible for the program administration for Together Today and Community Caring.
Specific responsibilities include:
Together Today
· Create, coordinate, and schedule the Together Today sponsorships and activities to fill the program calendar at each Together Today group
· Communicate with Together Today program sponsors, supporters, lead volunteers and participants to ensure the program calendar is followed
· Work with the Together Today lead volunteers to implement the weekly program events and assist in covering program events when volunteers are unavailable
· Obtain any supplies or needed items for Together Today locations
· Visit and check-in with each Together Today group to ensure that successful and positive community is being created
· Collect attendance sheets and donations from each group on a regular basis and input attendance data
· Create monthly events calendar to be prepared and distributed by program support staff
· Keep current participant contact information cards on file in case of emergency and maintain confidentiality
· Complete necessary program reports requested by Director of Programs, Director of Operations, and/or Executive Director
Community Caring
· Collect and maintain a list of current client volunteer needs from other programs team members, Director of Programs, or direct client requests
· Maintain a list of current background check approved one on one volunteers, including their availability and volunteer abilities
· Assist with volunteer recruitment
· Match client needs with current and available background check approved volunteers by scheduling the volunteers and contacting client/volunteer regarding match
· Follow up with volunteer upon completing scheduled time with client to determine that all needs were met and get any necessary feedback from the volunteer
· Inform programs team of any updates from volunteers regarding the client’s needs
· Maintain appropriate data and complete reports as needed for Director of Programs or Executive Director
· Assist Director of Programs with group volunteer project planning
Program Administration
· Meet with Director of Programs on a regular basis to discuss program needs, innovative ideas, or new program developments
· Assist the Director of Programs and/or Executive Director with any projects, special programs, or events as they arise
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent professional experience; preferred at least 3-5 years in program delivery
· Demonstrated success implementing programs and services (preferred in non-profit setting)
· Understands basic technology, working with reporting and program evaluation systems
· Experience having worked with a high-performance, collaborative, constructive peer group
· Ability to travel around Hamilton County to SCHC program sites
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to details
· Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for SCHC’s mission
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $47,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
