We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Manager role (Level 4) to come into what will be primarily a people leadership role, managing and developing a number of our project managers.

There will also be a project delivery element to the role which may involve taking business strategies and working with Executive members to shape their thinking into clear outcomes.

About the Role

In an exciting time of change at AZP with a busy change roadmap and a variety of significant projects underway, collaboration is key. You will be an integral part of this evolution, keeping our customer-centric approach and putting the heart back into insurance as we develop new propositions from idea through to customer launch.

Working in an agile environment, you will be bringing energy to our strategies on key change for the business. This is a dynamic and fast-moving place to work, and with so many moving parts, you will need to be engaging, persuasive and the glue that holds different teams together.

You’ll be part of a highly-motivated team helping to ensure the business delivers its key strategic business goals, working with stakeholders to ensure we achieve the AZP vision to be the Best Loved.

The role will be based in our Bournemouth office with the opportunity to work from home 2/3 days a week. We adopt a flexible working environment with a focus on learning & development.

About You

Good communication, both written and verbal is important, both in your role as a leader and also to deliver the requirements of the projects you will become part of. You will thrive in multi-stakeholder programmes, and be comfortable adapting your approach and language to work with colleagues of various disciplines and seniority.

As a senior leader in our business, you are likely to have experience of leading teams both directly and indirectly, understanding the importance of coaching and mentoring as key people development tools. You will already be a competent and effective Project Manager with a proven track record of managing large scale projects, and you will be able to apply that experience to your team of PMs as you support their grow.

You will be used to interacting with Executive level stakeholders, presenting opinions and options, solving problems and influencing outcomes.

Ideally, you will have at least five years’ experience managing projects, and have worked with a range of project/programme management frameworks inc. Agile, and this should be clearly evidenced in your CV. You will have a good range of projects in your work history, and it would be a great advantage if you have worked across Financial Services before, particularly Insurance. Previous people management experience would be helpful, though not essential as we would support you with this. You will be comfortable working with external third parties and partners including technology providers.
