Our general contracting construction business is looking for an experienced Project Manager for our construction contracts in the vicinity of Edwards AFB, CA. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for design, construction, managing and estimating and executing task orders through completion. The Project Manager’s job is to oversee each project from conception to the finished structure, interfacing with both construction professionals and the client. This position requires familiarity and skills in task order estimating using E4-clicks or unit book price detailed estimating. The position includes benefits, competitive salary, and paid time off. What will I do in this role?

• Conduct job walks, develop construction take-offs and detailed estimates. Negotiate Delivery Orders with contracting agents.
• Generate monthly billings, change orders & modifications.
• Leading the Quality Control (QC) Program for the contract.
• Leading our team through task order development and execution, with the ability to understand private client and/or government documentation requirements.
• Manage subcontractors and coordinate subcontractor work to ensure the project schedule and budget is met.
• Understand construction sequencing and can build and manage the project schedule in its entirety through completion and close-out.
• Leading and guiding their team through all safety protocols, establishing, and maintaining a positive team safety culture.
• Identifying and resolving problems and conflicts early through proactive inspection and an organized management process.
• Effectively manage relationships with clients, ensuring there is a complete understanding of the project and any current issues or outstanding questions.
• Preparing budgets and the ability to learn and understand accounting tools and techniques.
• Writing and executing subcontracts and the scope of work and scope and price construction change orders.
• Active oversight of the QC and Safety program.
• Managing the submittal process.

What will top candidates bring to the table?

• Top candidates will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field, including Federal SABER, JOC, MATOC, or IDIQ type contracts, including construction estimating with RSMeans/e4Clicks .
• Our PMs must have current USCoE CQM, OSHA 30, First Aid / CPR / AED, certifications. If not current the candidate must be able to complete certifications immediately. Other training requirements will also be routinely required, such as EM 385 -1-1, other training as required for federal contracts, and various HR training requirements.
• A natural desire to coach and mentor their teams.
• Strong technical skills and computer skills are necessary to be successful in this role.
• Strong relationship building skills with owners, subcontractors and within their own team, with the ability to manage expectations, outcomes, and lead their team to high levels of performance.
