Industrial Operations Team to support projects
in the Longview-Tacoma Region

Summary:
As an Industrial Project Manager you will be working under the leadership and direction of an Operations VP on a specific group of projects. This position will be primarily responsible for estimating and running pulp/paper mill & other industrial projects and removing barriers for our field teams that result in safe and successful projects. The idea candidate will be a Project Manager with strong industrial project estimating knowledge to run jobs from start to finish. This position is FLSA non-exempt and will support projects and jobsites north of Longview, WA into the greater Tacoma market.
Salary Range: $55-$65 per hour + Bonus & Profit Sharing
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promote & follow JH Kelly s safety program - ensure there are no unresolved safety or quality concerns on projects
- Estimate profitable projects -> Plan and manage project estimates
- Ensure projects are completed at or below budget and on or ahead of schedule
- Direct activities of project staff personnel, support team in their training and development
- Assure the accuracy and timeliness of all data associated with essential functions of assigned projects
- Build and develop satisfied customers and shareholders
- Plan and manage the project schedule and account for variances to the plan
- Manage and control project cost and account for variances to the estimate
- Create accurate projections of cost at completion
- Plan and manage the project control systems
- Ensure that billings are prepared and collected timely
- Thoroughly review all drawings, submittals, samples, and shop drawings, to ensure installation will be in accordance with the contract
- Budget set-up
- Write and manage RFI s and change orders
- Manage equipment & material procurement with the support of Supply Chain
- Plan and Coordinate work appropriately to facilitate the work permit process
- Review construction procedures and provide technical support of work
- Ensure construction work done in-house and by sub-contractors complies with contract
- Be directly involved with construction procedures, represent JH Kelly at meetings
- Keep company leadership informed of project status and scheduling
- Thoroughly review all drawings, submittals, samples, and shop drawings, to ensure the end product will be in accordance with the contract
- Perform additional tasks as assigned
Education/Experience
- 5+ years full Project Management life cycle experience in industrial construction industry specifically pulp/paper mill & rotating equipment experience
- Estimating, scheduling, budgeting, planning, and managing projects experience paper machines and other related equipment
- Construction Management, Mechanical, Industrial, Civil Engineering, Business degree and/or equivalent experience or education is preferred
- Expert of Critical Path Method (CPM) Scheduling, using MS Project or comparable applications
- Strong working knowledge in Project Management, Construction Management, Construction Contracts, Quality Assurance/Quality Control, and Safety
- Ability to conceptually visualize project and implement appropriate plan with financial success
- Fully Proficient in Microsoft Office & Bluebeam – intermediate skills in Excel
- Ability to mark-up drawings, add notes and do take-offs using Bluebeam
- Above average skills reading drawings and isometrics
- Must have valid driver license
