Essex mortgage is hiring for our Property Preservation Specialist position to assist our Servicing Department! We are looking to bring on a friendly, self-motivated, team player who seeks the opportunity to grow and learn.
Job Summary:
The Property Preservation Specialist will be responsible for coordinating with the property preservation vendor to order inspections and property preservation work when required. They will monitor the required deadlines ensuring those deadlines are met.
Essential Duties:
- Coordinate ordering property inspections according to Agency and Investor guidelines
- Order and manage property preservation as needed on vacant properties
- Order bids for property preservation and securing as needed.
- Monitor vacant properties to ensure vendors are taking actions in accordance with agency or investor guidelines.
- Review requests from vendors for over-allowables to ensure request are accurate and adequate
- Respond to escalations and notifications from property preservation vendors on all new damaged property alerts
- Work with Hazard Claims department to process and monitor damaged property claims
- Work with City/County/HOA/vendors to resolve violations
- Work with vendors and attorneys to achieve HUD conveyance Condition so HUD claims can be filed
- Prepare and maintain reports to management regarding status of all REO, Inspections and Property Preservation upon request
- Knowledge base of investor guidelines for property preservation
- All other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- Prior property preservation experience preferred
- Knowledge of default servicing, specifically with federally secured mortgage loans preferred
- Experience on a mortgage servicing platform is a plus
- Ability to work with vendors and other departments to obtain documentation when needed
- Ability to multitask and effectively manage time
- Ability to communicate effectively – both in verbal and written form
- Desire to take personal responsibility to complete tasks and solve problems
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Excellent organizational skills and strong work ethic
- Ability to remain professional even under strenuous situations
- Be able to empathize with a customer and take ownership of an issue
Computer and Equipment Skills
- Intermediate in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Word processing (speed and accuracy)
- Internet software
- Use typical office equipment (computers, fax, phones, copiers, scanners, projectors, etc.)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
