Psychology Assistant
A typical day in the life of a Psychology Assistant includes communicating with members of agency staff and external partners that work directly with individuals served, providing consultation and assessment for programs and services. You will be utilizing agency provided laptop and cellphone to work primarily from home with occasional in-person meetings, assessments, and consultations required. You will work closely with our agency Psychologists and will routinely interact with members of our Behavior Support Team and office leadership with the goal to increase capacity, access, and quality of services available to people served by Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services.
Job Duties (Summary):
  • Conduct psychological assessments to answer a variety of referral questions (diagnoses, level of functioning, etc.); write reports of findings and conclusions and share results with referral source; conduct review of records to confirm diagnoses and complete associated forms; track referrals and update tracking as necessary; send reports/records for scanning as needed; enter information as assigned.
  • Support for collaborations with community agencies and providers; provide clinical and administrative support for the Family and Children First Council, OhioRISE, and Multi-System Youth programs; provide clinical and administrative support for ongoing collaborations with the Tim Freeman, MD Center for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities at UC Health, as well as other community medical, psychiatric, and mental health agencies; provide support, as needed, for contract-funded collaboration with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center Psychiatry.
  • Support for internal programs and services. Conduct Itinerant Support consultations, including managing referrals, scheduling meetings, and providing feedback; assist psychologists with coordinating and conducting Consultative Supports Team meetings, including scheduling, notes, dissemination of recommendations, and assistance with implementing recommendations, as needed; collaborate with psychologists for training Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services and community provider staff, as needed.
  • Support for collaborations with Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities supports. Respond to requests from teams seeking Technical Assistance, Developmental Center admissions, or access to other Department to Developmental Disabilities consultation, including compiling records, submitting requests, tracking, and follow up, as needed; collaborate with Service and Support Administrators regarding transition status and transition planning for those at Developmental Centers.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Requirements (Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification):
  • Master’s degree in psychology
  • Previous experience supporting people with developmental disabilities and administering psychological evaluations
  • Position requires eligibility for registration with the Ohio Board of Psychology for Psychological Work Supervision to perform work under the supervision of Licensed Psychologists (registration to be completed upon hire)
  • Eligible for Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) SSA certification
  • Possess valid driver’s license and meets agency driver’s insurability requirements
