Church Nursery Worker
Job Description

Purpose: To provide dependable, safe, and nurturing care to the children while employed by
First Methodist Church of Clinton

Responsibilities:

● Responsible for providing age-appropriate care which includes, but isn’t limited to : feeding, changing diapers, maintaining a safe environment, cheerfully interacting through games, stories, play, and crafts.

● Be polite, friendly, and courteous to all children, parents, staff and volunteers.
● Arrive 15 minutes prior to the early service starting. Hours include every Sunday from

8:30am to 12:30pm and Wednesdays from 5pm to 7:15pm. You are expected to work all
Sundays, even if it falls on a holiday. Extra church events, such as Vacation Bible
School, CUBS, and other special occasions will be discussed at least 2 weeks in advance.

● Stay until all children are secured with a responsible adult for that particular child.
● Straighten the room, wipe down tables, and sanitize toys before leaving.
● Communicate in advance, by phone or text to the Children’s Minister any 1) planned absences with an advance of 2 weeks notice, or 2) any unplanned absence at least 2 hours before shift.

Qualifications:

● Experience in caring for children between the ages of 0-4
● At least 18 years of age
● Satisfactory completion of background check
● Must adhere to First Methodist Church of Clinton Safe Sanctuary Policy
● Two references

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift

• Clinton, NC 28328: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Teaching (Preferred)
• Childcare (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)
